For those don’t know, hydroponics is the system in which plants are grown without soil which seems amazing but in actual fact hydroponics allows plants to be grown faster and easier. In hydroponics, plants are grown in a solution consisting of water and nutrients required for a particular plant, or within a system that uses a substrate or growing mix medium. There are several hydroponics techniques and systems that exist for producing plant crops.

The 3 main homemade hydroponic systems are aeroponics, the nutrient film technique, and the aeration technique. As an example, with the aeroponics method plants are anchored using screens, rigid pipes and ornics films and the required nutrients are mixed into the plants’ water supply artificially. The plant roots are suspended within the water by various designs and the crop obtains the food nutrients directly from the water, or from an air mist sprayed directly unto the plant roots. A homemade hydroponic system also requires growing media which are generally composed from relatively inert materials that have the ability to retain moisture and ly support the plant roots. Growing media for hydroponics includes, expanded clay, rockwool, perlite, vermiculite, Styrofoam, sand, pea gravel, and other mediums.

Beginning growers will be satisfied with the quality of their crops, and the rates at which they will grow. Flowers and tree seedlings can also be grown using hydroponics. Hydroponic greenhouses produce millions of plant seedlings each year, which are transplanted and grown at other locations where they are later planted into soil.
